Statue Greek art, late 4th century B.C. Representing a young goddess standing with her body weight on her right leg. She is wearing sandals, a chiton and a peplos with a flap belted under the breast, as well as a mantle draped over the left shoulder, passing over the back. The missing left arm was carved separately White marble Dimensions: 65.5 cm. x 26 cm. Provenance: Acquired from Galerie Uraeus Paris, July 8, 1992 Collection of gallery owner Naila de Monbrison (1940-2025) Bibliography: In terms of statuary composition, rendering of the peplos and draping of the mantle, the present figure finds a close parallel in a larger-than-natural statue from Cyrene (LIMC, vol. 2, p. 661, no. 521, pl. 487), created in the early Hellenistic period. Appraised by Mr. David Ghezelbash - Specialist in Archaeology. A Greek Art, end of IVth century before. J.-C. marble statue.
