A self-taught artist, Axel Chay is inspired by the Mediterranean Sea in which he loves to swim, with its evocative colors, graphic waves and sensual curves. An ode to women, their solar sensuality and their free spirit, his pieces are both contemporary and sculptural. Donald Judd, Julio Le Parc and Tom Wesselmann are all figures who inspire her designs, a tribute to kinetic art and the Memphis movement. His playground: experimenting with new materials. Steel, aluminum, cork, wood, expanded foam and plaster enrich his technical and singular creations. Breaking away from current design trends, Axel seeks above all rarity and a radical aesthetic that makes the object a sculptural piece with a real presence in a space. His projects, whether in interior design, decoration, design or art, reflect his love of the Mediterranean.
