JEAN PAUL GAULTIER HAUTE COUTURE Robe en jersey de soie plissé mahogany et améthyste « Bayadère », collection « Indian Gypsies », Printemps/Été 2013 A cinnamon and amethyst pleated silk jersey 'Bayadere' dress, 'Indian Gypsies' collection, Spring-Summer 2013 Lace label, look 1, the Mme Gres inspired gown formed of joined stripes of pleated jersey, the gently bloused front bodice with front slits, hook and eye fastenings, drapes of jersey form cap sleeves and then converge at the back to form a long pleat, deep U shaped back opening, bust approx 81cm 32in waist 61cm 24in; with brown pony-hide belt (2) The guests at the show were seated in rows named after Indian foods. Although the show had an Indian theme running throughout, this first look of the show shows a pure French influence. The elaborate pleats in two differing crêpes form stripes which are redolent of Madame Alix Gres creations.
