CHANEL BY HERVÉ LEGÉR AND EVA COMPOCASSI Tailleur jupe en tweed pastel, Printemps-Été 1983 A pastel tone tweed suit, Spring-Summer 1983 handwritten defilé labels only, inscribed 'Lisa', woven with pastel-toned stripes and white and ivory lozenge forms, the open-fronted jacket with patch pockets, metal and lucite sun mask buttons, notched lapels, trimmed in white braid, bust approx 107cm 42in; with matching skirt, waist 66cm 26in (2) In the early 1980s rumours swirled that Karl Lagerfeld would be taking over at Chanel - the New York Times wrote "merely a whisper of a Karl Lagerfeld connection was enough to bring out the crowds and the tension." The year preceding him serving as artistic director of the Haute Couture line, his assistants began designing the ready to wear collections to anticipate his arrival. Hervé Legér and Eva Compocassi were credited with designing this lines, while Karl was a 'consultant'. Provenance: From a Parisian Joyful Collection Image Droits Réservés
