NAILA DE MONBRISON COLLECTION: AN ECLECTIC AND CONTEMPORARY LOOK-FURNITURE FROM HER APARTMENT ON RUE DE GRENELLE-PART I
We have the immense honor of presenting for sale the personal collection of Naïla de Monbrison, a committed gallerist and collector with eclectic and refined taste.
This collection will be sold in two separate auctions: the first will feature all the furniture and works of art from her Paris apartment on Rue de Grenelle (190 lots); the second will present all her personal jewelry and that from her gallery (230 lots). A veritable cabinet of curiosities, Naïla de Monbrison's apartment features a dense and coherent collection of African and Oceanic art objects, archaeological pieces, photographs, as well as contemporary art and design creations. Certain works from the personal collection of her husband, Marc de Monbrison, extend this subtle dialogue between cultures, eras and sensibilities. Oceanic art includes a Lei Niho Palaoa necklace from the Hawaiian Islands and an important tapa from Humboldt Bay in Papua New Guinea; African art is represented by a precious selection of Baule gold jewelry. On the design side, there are floor lamps by Alberto and Diego Giacometti, and furniture by Garouste and Bonetti. The photography section features works by Frank Horvat, Robert Doisneau, Piet Zwart, James Welling and Stéphane Couturier. Each object reflects an assertive taste, a curiosity without hierarchy and a pioneering spirit: an interior conceived as a composition, where eclecticism becomes signature and each object participates in a deeply personal and innovative vision.
