DIOR MASTERPIECES: THE MOUNA AYOUB HAUTE COUTURE COLLECTION

LIVE SALE THURSDAY JANUARY 29 AT 15.00 AT THE BRISTOL, 112 RUE DU FAUBOURG SAINT HONORE 75008

Maurice Auction, in collaboration with Kerry Taylor Auctions, presents an unprecedented sale of 126 Christian Dior Haute Couture pieces from the legendary collection of Madame Mouna Ayoub. Gathered over several decades, this selection constitutes one of the most remarkable private ensembles ever dedicated to the House: a museum-like ensemble where the evolution of contemporary couture meets the career of a collector whose influence, constancy and audacity have profoundly marked the fashion landscape.Iconic silhouettes, major creations by various couturiers: the collection covers the period 1984-2022 and brings together works conceived

Marc Bohan (1960/1989), Gianfranco Ferré (1989/1997) and John Galliano (1997/2011), plus more recent pieces by Raf Simons (2012/2015) and Maria Grazia Chiuri (2016/2025). This ensemble offers a unique panorama of the savoir-faire of the House of Christian Dior, and reveals a discerning eye, that of Madame Mouna Ayoub, sensitive to both

elegance and stylistic breakthroughs. Many of these pieces have been preserved in virtually untouched condition,

a testament to the extreme care taken by Mouna Ayoub with her collection, conceived as a veritable art ensemble. Some creations were commissioned for their aesthetic value alone, with the same exacting standards as a collector of rare objects. Within this ensemble, John Galliano's works occupy a decisive place for Madame Ayoub: his vision

His vision, his freedom of construction and the narrative power of his silhouettes had a profound effect on the collector, who chose to acquire several iconic models from his collections:

"Maasai" autumn-winter 1997, "Mata Hari" autumn-winter 1997-98,

"Diorient Express" autumn-winter 1998, and "Clochards" spring-summer.

About Madame Mouna Ayoub:

A collector for over 40 years, Madame Mouna Ayoub has assembled, thanks to her sharp eye, one of the world's most prestigious Haute Couture collections. She purchases the most emblematic models from each collection, by house and by designer. Reflecting on the beginnings of her Dior collection and the couturiers who left their mark on her, she declares:

"They were all very different; Bohan's clothes were elegant and feminine, and as a young woman, they gave me confidence when I wore them. Ferré's designs were opulent, glamorous, feminine and beautifully structured, but Galliano was definitely my favorite. He liberated me from all the classic looks I'd been wearing until then. His clothes embodied the freedom I craved and longed for after my divorce. They represented the outward expression I needed after years of reclusion.
