I created a variation with a deep V-neckline. This design was adapted for numerous garments: jackets, sweaters, dresses, and shirts. The white poplin Vareuse shirt quickly became iconic and appeared in several collections. It can be worn tucked into pants or a skirt, or as a tunic over a tank top or a light sweater.” Martin Margiela A white and gray ensemble, Spring-Summer 1999 Comprising: - A white poplin Vareuse blouse, size 40, bust approx.: 117cm - 46in - A white cotton vest, size 44, bust approx.: 97cm - 38.19in - A pair of black polyester "double-zip" trousers, featuring 2 zippers with leather sliders and 2 buttons with "H" stitching on both sides at the waist, size 44, waist approx.: 81cm - 32in. It was applied to many garments. There were Vareuse jackets, sweaters, dresses, and shirts. The white poplin Vareuse shirt quickly became iconic and was featured in many collections.
