From childhood, her interest in nature and her sense of observation foreshadowed her future creations. She began her career as a model in Barcelona, where she studied Gaudi architecture and became a friend of Salvador Dali. She then moved to New York, where in 1969, she created her first jewelry pieces for designer Giorgio di Sant'Angelo, and later for her friend the stylist Halston. Her creations opened the door to success, and in 1974, Elsa Peretti joined Tiffany & Co. The same year, she launched her own collection. Among her most emblematic pieces are the "Diamonds by the Yard" line, the "Bone Cuff" and the "Open Heart" pendant, which testify to her unique style combining organic forms and sculptural lines.
