A 'Mobile' magnetic beads and gold pendant necklace, by Takis.
Takis, the visionary Greek sculptor, left his mark on the art scene with his exploration of space and materials in kinetic art. Trained in figurative art, he quickly turned to a singular path in the 1950s, devoting himself to research into magnetism, the core of his work.
In the late 1970s, Takis inaugurated a new artistic chapter by creating his first jewelry pieces, mainly rings, in which he exploited the effects and technological expressions of magnetism. On a gold surface, small black beads are held in place by a magnet.
Later, he extended his exploration to the design of bracelets, necklaces and pendants, varying shapes and surface differences. Unique pieces and veritable micro-sculptures, his jewels are distinguished by their singularity. They fuse science and art, capturing the energy of magnetism.
