Catherine LE GAL (b. 1966) Silver ring, 2020 In silver (800), made from a round wire ring, adorned with a silver dome plated with fine gold leaf using the Correan Keum Boo technique, the dome held by a nail whose top is in 18K (750) gold Unsigned, hallmark of Catherine Le Gal Unique piece Size: 3 cm, TDD: 52, Gross weight: 7.54 grs. This ring was created for Catherine Le Gal's solo exhibition at Galerie Naila de Monbrison in 2020. A silver and gilded silver ring, by Catherine Le Gal. Keum Boo" is a Korean technique involving the application of very thin pure gold leaf to pure silver or 925 silver heated to a very high temperature. Once the temperature has been reached, the gold leaf fuses with the silver in a durable and seamless manner. Keum Boo' is a Korean technique that involves applying a very thin sheet of pure gold to pure silver or 925 silver heated to a very high temperature.
