NAILA DE MONBRISON COLLECTION: A COMMITTED GALLERIST-HER COLLECTION OF CONTEMPORARY AND ARTISTS' JEWELRY-PART II
We have the immense honor of presenting for sale the personal collection of Naïla de Monbrison, a committed gallerist and collector with eclectic and refined taste. This collection will be sold in two separate auctions: the first will feature all the furniture and works of art from her Paris apartment on Rue de Grenelle (190 lots); the second will present all her personal jewelry and that from her gallery (230 lots). Her jewelry collection embodies a vision she has defended for almost forty years: to consider jewelry as a work of art in its own right, a sculptural form designed for the body. Each piece goes beyond simple adornment to become an autonomous creation, conveying a gesture, research and artistic language. Founded in 1987 on the rue de Bourgogne, his gallery quickly established itself as a benchmark among art lovers, collectors and museum institutions. One of the first in France to exclusively champion contemporary and artist-created jewelry, she worked with her creators like an art gallery: long-term support, thematic exhibitions, putting works into perspective. Among the artists she has represented are Tina Chow, Giampaolo Babetto, Gilles Jonemann, Martial Berro, Giorgio Vigna, Florence Lehmann, Taher Chemirik, Alberto and Brita Guzman and Claude Boisselier. These names reflect the consistency of her commitment and her vision of jewelry, which she has defended with determination.
