REINHARD LUTHIER Bustier in mordoré fabric, rhinestones, coins and passementerie Forming a heart motif adorned with pierced coins on a rhinestone semiset and orange mordoré fabric, finished with passementerie tassels Circa 1975. This model has been worn by dancers Reinhard Luthier was discovered in Cannes by Hubert de Givenchy, who introduced him in 1966 to Marc Bohan, then Artistic Director at Dior. The young couturier worked there for 1 year before teaming up with Loris and Michelle Azzaro in 1967 to found Azzaro Couture, where he designed, among other things, jewelry until 2000. Often described as the couturier to the stars, Reinhard Luthier created costumes for numerous public figures, actresses and singers, including Dalida, Sylvie Vartan, Tina Turner and Jane Birkin, and dressed Brigitte Bardot for the cover of Vogue Italia in 1973. In 2017, the Musée de la Mode in Paris purchased several of the designer's dresses, including the famous sliding neckline dress worn by Jane Seberg and Diana Ross, for whom Azzaro is renowned.
