Provenance : Acquired from Tajan, sale October 9, 2007, lot 66 Born in 1943 in Aix-en-Provence, Jacques Darbaud studied at the Grande Chaumière and the André Lhote Academy before working for several years as a set designer for film and television. He moved to the South of France in 1993, where he set up a sculpture studio and developed his artistic work. For the past ten years, he has devoted himself entirely to sculpture, inspired in particular by the work of Herbert Ward and by Africa.
