Ettore Sottsass designed his first glassware collection for Memphis in 1982. His proposals are based on the assembly of simple geometric shapes in bright, bold colors. Here, suspended ornaments such as earrings or chandelier pendants, evocative of a construction game or merry-go-round, reinforce the playful dimension of the object to the point of overshadowing its functional nature.
