He worked alongside Le Corbusier and Louis Kahn, before pursuing teaching and research activities in Europe, Asia and America. Since 1982, he has collaborated with Alias, for whom he designed Prima and Seconda, two emblematic chairs now exhibited at MoMA in New York, as well as Robot. A multi-award-winning architect, he is the author of numerous monographs and founded the Swiss Academy of Architecture in 1996. A "Seconda" armchair by Mario Botta
