MARTIN MARGIELA Pair of black leather moccasins, circa 1984 - Lot 163
MARTIN MARGIELA Pair of black leather moccasins, circa 1984 A rare and early pair of black leather pumps, circa 1984 labeled, size 38, with round tongue, leather soles (2) These shoes were produced before Martin had launched the 'Maison' that he is so well known for today. Produced in the mid 1980s, they are part of a line that was admired by Rei Kawakubo and which she in fact sold in her stores when Margiela was still a niche, little-known designer. They offer an early insight to the purity of his vision from a time that predates even his tenure at Jean Paul Gaultier. These shoes were photographed by Daniel Riera in: Alex G Cano et al. Charo, La Ribagorzana, 2019, n.p. Provenance: From the Collection of Alex G Cano
