CHANEL by GRIPOIX Glass paste and gilded metal brooch, circa 1984. Signed and dated on the back. Mounted in hammered gilded metal with red and green polished glass paste rhinestones, holding two drop motifs. 8.3 x 8 cm. Very good condition. The Maison Gripoix has been a veritable dynasty of paruriers since 1890, when Augustine Gripoix bought a glass bead and button business. Their reputation is based on the know-how and techniques of enameling, stone cutting and imitation pearls. Gripoix has maintained close relations with fashion houses such as Chanel, Christian Dior and Lanvin since the 20th century.
