MARCEL BOUCHER, CORO Craft Set of two brooches in gilded metal, rhinestones and colored stones forming a seated genie and an elephant. Signed on back plate. Dimensions: 5.2 x 3.2; 4 x 5.3 cm. Very good condition. Bibliography of a model similar to the genie: - Brunalti Roberto, Brunalti Carla Ginelli, American Costume Jewelry: Art & Industry, 1935-1950, Volume 1, Schiffer Publishing Ltd, 2008. First apprenticed to Cartier in France, then in New York, Marcel Boucher joined forces with Albert Halberstadt in 1937 to devote himself entirely to the creation of costume jewelry. Its style is distinguished by the use of colorful rhinestones and nature-inspired motifs, featuring flowers, horses, birds, bees and enamels. The company has shown a strong interest in technological innovation, as evidenced by the patent for the duette, a mechanism that unites two clips into a single brooch.
