AZZARO - Lot 147
AZZARO Une robe à franges de chaînes, prototype, circa 1971 A chain-fringed prototype dress, circa 1971 The silver lurex crochet ground entirely covered in tiered graduated fringes and loops of silver and gold chains, ruched gathers to front and back of bodice, no fastenings, bare midriff above velour waistband and skirt panel, bust approx 86cm, 34in Provenance: formerly in the Loris Azzaro Archive Tina Turner wore similar chain-fringed dresses to this one. She was dressed by Azzaro for the majority of her stage appearances from the late 60's to the mid 70's. The fringed chain mini dress became a signature look for her - the chains swaying with the movement of her body as she performed.
