Jules-Emile ZINGG (1882 - 1942)
Haystacks Oil on canvas Studio sale stamp lower right 50 x 60 cm (Restorations) (1) Sold in collaboration with the Astrid Guillon auction house in Besançon. An oil on canvas by Jules-Emile Zingg Jules-Emile Zingg (1882 - 1942) was a French Post-Impressionist painter, draughtsman and engraver. He began his artistic training in Félix Giacomotti's studio at the École des Beaux-Arts in Besançon, before successfully entering the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. From the 1910s onwards, he received numerous awards for his work, including the Prix de Rome in 1913. Zingg's creations were inspired by the rural landscapes he discovered during his travels in France. For the artist, the wars were defining moments, each time bringing about fundamental changes in his art. His work is a pure, passionate song in honor of the seasons and the work. We usually think of Zingg as a painter from the Franche-Comté region, and rightly so: the aspect of the region where he made his first sketches, the snows of the Jura, the rather pronounced contours of the Montbéliard hills, the changing yet solid horizon of the Franche-Comté region, have profoundly marked his sensations and his brushstrokes. So it seems that nature has confidence in this cultivated painter. - Jules-Émile Zingg (1882 - 1942) was a French post-impressionist painter, draftsman, and engraver. It seems that nature entrusted this cultured painter. Lots 196 to 201 are being sold in collaboration with the auction house Astrid Guillon in Besançon, and we warmly thank them for their trust.
